Title: What Would Emma Do?
Author: Eileen Cook
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Publication Date: December 2008
Summary (from Goodreads):
While juggling friendship issues (her best friend isn't speaking to her), a love triangle-turned-square (okay, maybe she shouldn't have kissed her best friend's boyfriend...but it was totally an accident!...sort of), and escalating mayhem in her small religious town (uh-oh...what would Jesus do?), Emma realizes she has to stop trying to please everyone around her and figure out what she wants for herself. It's time to start asking, "What would Emma do?"
My Review:
From the blurb on the back cover I thought I would be reading a romantic comedy with Emma dilemma in the aftermath of kissing her best friend’s boyfriend. But as I kept reading, I kept thinking that the story seemed really familiar and then realized that it reminded me of The Crucible.
Apart from Emma and her friends everyone else fell flat. I didn’t like any of the townspeople and they really annoyed me. The leader of the popular girls, Stacia, was the one disliked the most. I have to say that she annoyed me to no end.
Also the story ended a bit too soon for me. There were a lot of loose ends and not enough answers. I wanted to know what happened to the popular girls and if Emma ever made it out of town.
My Rating 2 Stars

I'm sorry you didn't like the story! I havent read it, but I am willing to give it a try. Only not now,but in the summer! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your honesty.
This one is definitely not for me. It isn't my genre and it sounds like it was poorly executed. A great straight to the point review. I liked it!
