Summary (taken from Amazon):
Out of sight, out of their minds: It's a school-trip splatter fest and completely not cool when the other kids in her class go all braindead on new girl Bobby.
The day of the ski trip, when the bus comes to a stop at a roadside restaurant, everyone gets off and heads in for lunch. Everyone, that is, except Bobby, the new girl, who stays behind with rebel-without-a-clue Smitty.
Then hours pass. Snow piles up. Sun goes down. Bobby and Smitty start to flirt.
Start to stress. Till finally they see the other kids stumbling back. But they've changed. And not in a good way. Straight up, they're zombies. So the wheels on the bus better go round and round freakin' fast, because that's the only thing keeping Bobby and Smitty from becoming their classmates' next meal. It's kill or be killed in these hunger games, heads are gonna roll, and homework is most definitely gonna be late.
Review:
Zombies, zombies, zombies everywhere. If you know me then
you will know that I hardly ever read zombie books because I find the whole
eating humans part kinda disgusting.
So basically the kids are on their way home from a school
ski trip and the group stops at a roadside café for lunch. Two kids decide to
stay behind on the bus: Bobby, the new girl from the USA, and Smitty, who is
forced to stay behind as punishment from the teachers. Immediately things start
to go wrong, first there is a giant snow storm outside, then something crashes
into the back of the bus, but most worse of all is that all their classmates
inside the café have turned into zombies.
Bobby is someone that is so reliable and if I was ever
attacked then I would feel safe having her watch my back. Smitty is an act
first, think later kind of guy. Two
other students also survive, Alice and Pete. Alice is your quintessential rich
girl who only cares about herself while Pete is the big geek of the group.
Wow was this book exciting. It was an up and down
rollercoaster for me. Just when you think the group finally can get a break, they
are faced with another obstacle. From what I found online, the second book,
Unfed, has already been released in the UK. Now I just have to wait for the
North American release.

Oh my goodness that tagline is enough to make me want this book! I love rollercoaster novels and I agree with you on the disgusting-ness of zombies - but they do make good plotlines! Awesome review, Jenny :)
ReplyDeleteI agree about the off-putting ick factor that usually accompanies zombie stories, but I do love a good zombie book and Undead sounds like a winner. Great review Jenny! I really want this book now.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Cool cover. ZOmbies, well bring them on
ReplyDeleteZombies! I quite like zombies, so this book sounds great to me :D I'm happy that you liked it despite the fact that you're anti-zombie.

Back from my blogging break :)
ReplyDeleteI don't like zombies either, Jenny, so although you ended up loving it, I think I'm going to stay away. That cover is awesome however!
