Young adult fiction books are self-explanatory. I mean that they are pretty good for young and adult readers with the theme and unlimited plots that are based on the authors’ imaginations and words presentations. If you don’t have any clue about this genre, you may take a look at some young adult movie adaptation like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Those movies are the real examples of this genre that are very popular among young and adult books and movie lovers. However, I didn’t include both titles because they have already been popular out there. Instead, I have picked some of the best recommended books that keep you awake all night long.

The title of our top adult fiction books is Only Ever Yours by Louise O’Neill. This book is definitely a young adult book taking place in a future dystopian world. First of all, I told you that this book is unique and unlikely a happy book that provides happy protagonist, theme, or literature within it. Instead, it is like a depressing book and you might feel depresses to read the story of the protagonist. However, it is the point that hooked me in this book. So, I just notify you if you need this kind of book. Only Ever Yours has its own way to deliver and present the facts of our society. Take a look at the main plot of this one of young adult fiction books.

Plot

In this dystopian world, women have tight and specific rules especially when they are growing into adult women. The reason is because human race just cannot give a birth for female children. As a result, female or women are raised in laboratories or schools so that they cannot meet the men before sixteen years old and other strict rules. Basically, they are born to serve men. After they are in 16 years-old age, they are graduated from the school and then the males pick the one girl who meets their requirement as their wife.

The wife here is called companion who serve the men like making meals, giving son, until they are not necessarily useful anymore. Meanwhile, the rests who aren’t picked can choose two categories, concubine and teacher, which is a grim future for them. Freida is the protagonist that we should follow in this story. She should follow the rule and become the best in her class to be the bride of a man in her graduation. In other words, the competitive scene is really shown in this book. Who will be the prettiest, thinnest or something like that is ranked every week.

Conclusion

This one of best young adult fiction books has taken one of my favorite unique perceptions. It is about Freida who doesn’t seem like other dystopian protagonists’ characters. She doesn’t turn down the world or is being the hero to save her world. Instead, she just follows the rules and becomes the best of the best even though she has to compete with her only one and only friend, Isabel. She also has to deal with her own identity as self-conscious woman. Overall, this book is recommended for those who need a different way of delivering literature.
