The year of 2016 was just passed wonderfully by these Children’s Picture Books. Coming with many popular authors, last year became a sweet debut from several authors as well. Children books with some pictures always tend to be the best choice for our kids. They have a beautiful story plus wonderfully illustrations. I clearly created this list based on my own opinion. Your list might be yours but please consider those books that I have provided too in this article. It does not matter whether you choose funny or clever tales. The point is those books are successfully made our kids’ days.
Children’s Picture Books
The Hueys: What’s the Opposite?
The first of pictures of children’s books is written by Oliver Jeffers. For your information, he is one of the New York Times bestselling illustrators so far. And the Hueys just comes back with him in the latest series called What’s the Opposite. As you can see on its title, this book will teach our lovely ones with some vocabularies and their opposite. Jeffers also fuses some combinations between hilarious illustrations and his humorous acts to this book properly. As a result, the kids won’t be conscious that they are also learning about vocabularies and their opposites.
Alan’s Big, Scary Teeth
It is a book by Jarvis that tells the story about Alan especially his teeth. This book doesn’t only tell the story of him, but also illustrated everything in a very attractive way. He didn’t forget to bring some twists in his book. It is the story of Alan, which is a scary alligator. One day, his one of teeth is going missing. Of course, it will ruin his day to scare other creatures. Moreover, his teeth become the signature of this scary alligator. I really love the illustrations made by Jarvis. It doesn’t seem bored to be read by our kids.
Where the Wild Things Are
This book is listed on our children’s picture books list. It was written by Maurice Sendak who has written unique and psychologically children book entitled Where the Wild Things Are. The language used and the illustrations are just fascinating. The story begins when Max just goes to sleep, skipping his dinner. After that, he creates some imagination about wilderness. In his imagination, he encounters a group of beautiful beasts. Suddenly, he becomes homesick as much. At last, he wakes up and looks for his dinner.
The Other Side
Last but not least, I have a book by Jacqueline Woodson. It was also illustrated by E. B. Lewis. The book has unique ways to deliver the story. It uses metaphor. The story begins when a fence separates a group of kids, which is black and white one plus two little girls. They just need a companion to play each other.
That is all children’s picture books that I have read and found so far. The authors and illustrators have their special and unique ways in delivering what our kids need at their age. Hopefully you get my point in this article. Children’s world is very vast and unlimited. We shouldn’t limit them then.
